We've seen that from 1860-1900 the US went through several major changes. First, it occupied the western lands and drove the indians off. Second, industrialization went into full swing and a whole class of wealthy factory owners grew up. Now we are going to look at something else: the expansion of the US overseas -- the Spanish-American War. Start with this site which outlines the war. Pay particular attention to the role of the media, the press.

3. science: Dan-dan big science book, zeb and dan-dan, another section of the chemistry workbook together.

4. English: Act ONe, scene 2 of Othello. Carefully read Iago's passages and Othello's. What is Iago saying here, and who is he talking about?

Though in the trade of war I have slain men,
Yet do I hold it very stuff o' the conscience
To do no contrived murder: I lack iniquity
Sometimes to do me service: nine or ten times
I had thought to have yerk'd him here under the ribs.

Note that these words at the opening are addressed to Othello. Iago is saying he lacks the courage for cold-blooded killing -- so really he has to find someone else to do the dirty work for him. yerked = stabbed.
