Zeb Essay, March 18, 2009

Over the years, I've raised lots of pets. Most of them are cats are dogs, but some are hamsters, turtles, and even fish. In various ways, the pets have influenced me alot. The three main things I learned are taking care of animals, help adjust with life, and learning how to love others.

Number one and the most important is that I've learned how to take care of animals. Feeding the cats and gos are various time periods. The cats sometimes "demand" being feed, but I only feed them on a morning/night schedule. You also need patientence when dealing with pets considering they're not human beings. Thus, I learned how to take care of pets.

Pets always have problems getting along with each other. For example, the dogs fight each other and we have to pull them away. Our cats always suffering a traumatic period immediately after arriving at the house. It takes days or even weeks to let the cats get used to life at our house. Now, normally the two cats that live inside cooperate, instead of hissing at each other, and they even playfully fight each other. (One of the inside cats does attempt to escape the house occasionally, but that's another story.) I help the animals get along with each other here.

As time goes on, you feel your pets are very best friends and you learn to love them and their ways. You feel like they are part of you. I always felt the inside cats are my very best friends. Cats are a fun to play with. I learned how to love others, even if they are pets.

My pets have influenced my emotions, patientence and numerous other things. If I had no pets, maybe my patientence would snap quickly, or no love for cats. Today, I continue to learn and be influenced by our pets.
