3. US history: pre-European civilizations. This week we are looking at various American Indian peoples. First, read about potlatch. The read about the Tlingit and explore the links. Then go here and look at pictures.

3. Science: chemistry, periodic table of the elements. Go look at this beautiful periodic table of the elements. Move the mouse over each square and read off the names, then click on carbon and oxygen and other elements you know, and read about them. Do this activity with Dan-Dan.
4. history: you and Dan-dan visit this site on Plimoth Plantation and look at all the pictures.

begin reading on the settlement of North America by Europeans. We are going to study the history of America in social studies this year.

3. What kinds of animals did they encounter?

Read this on some of the first people to enter North America, the Clovis point people.
Answer the following questions in your notebook:
1. Why are they called the Clovis point people? What is a Clovis point? What is it made from?

2. When did they live? According to the article, what did they hunt?
